Family room off the kitchen. We laid Mexican tile in this room and I painted the walls a light sea blue color...

Living room and dining room - that will be painted a creamy white (I think). Picking paint is on the list for this weekend!

We are HOMEOWNERS!!

I started looking at houses online at the beginning of the year and this summer the hubby and I became serious about finding a house. We had a fabulous realtor, Alden Potts, and happened to find our house the first day we went looking!

It is just perfect for us - it is in the great neighborhood of Collier Hills; 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (albeit very small bathrooms); adorable window seats in 2 of the bedrooms and in the sunroom; a great yard out front and a tree covered backyard; and the house is painted white brick - my absolute favorite.

To back up - this is definitely a first house - it is tiny! We are having to close in a bathroom to have a "true" master bath; I don't think we can fit a king size bed in our room; and there is very limited counter space in the kitchen.
It's definitely not the perfect house - but it's the "perfect" first house for us!

And what I am most excited about is..... DECORATING!! I can't even stand it!

I'm looking forward to sharing all my before and after pics - hopefully great furniture finds (at hopefully great prices) - and all the trials and tribulations of home ownership.

JAMES CARMICHAEL BROCK

Our nephew has arrived! Scott's sister had their little buddle of joy this afternoon. "Little" might not be the correct word - he came into the world at 9lbs 15oz and 21" long - a big boy :)

Lots of love to Megan and Michael and the whole Green and Brock family!

Home Sweet Home

We are the on the search for our first home. We have looked at tons of houses all over the cute neighborhoods of Atlanta and can't wait to settle in on one. Hopefully sooner than later we will have more to share :)

ITALIA

The hubby and I just got back from our one year anniversary vacation to Italy. We stayed in Rome, Positano and Florence with day trips to Capri, Amalfi and Tuscany. It was an absolutely amazing trip!

I am so proud of my husband!! He took the six hour long Series 7 test on Tuesday hoping not to fail... and not only did he pass, he aced it with a 90%. Congrats hubby!!

Weekend Warrior

This weekend I have a lot on my agenda - belated birthday dinner with my husband, another birthday dinner for Matt's 30th, furniture shopping, and a few projects that I want to start and FINISH.

First off, I want to make a skirted table to go in the entry hall under our large mirror. We are in desperate need of more table space for frames, candles, flowers, etc. All I need is a cheap console table/desk, a staple gun, and some fun fabric! I will be scouring Forsyth Fabrics on Saturday for a bold fabric - seeing as this does not have to be permanent.

As for furniture shopping...

Now & Again is having their huge sale starting Saturday - so I will be there bright and early! I also want to stop by Authentique in Inman Park and Savvy Snoot on Howell Mill :)

Hopefully I will have some great finds to report on, but too many - Scott will go crazy. Speaking of "Scott" - Scotts Antique Show is next weekend - woohoo!! (another reason to limit this weekend's purchases)

The perfect den or living room. Not too girly or frilly for Scott, but elegant enough for me. With our white couch - which was my first big furniture purchase in '09 - this room would be great for us!! I am in love with the dark chocolate walls, earthy (yet feminine) pillows, large brass lamps, and bamboo side tables - I'm pretty sure I will try to create this room in our first home*!!

*which we will hopefully find at the end of this year!

These colors are amazing! Definitely an eclectic room - but it all works together so well... (of course - it's from Elle Decor!) I want a wall full of all different picture frames. I have started collecting the fames, now just need to have all the pictures printed in the right sizes and get them on the wall!

Man cave, den, guest house - any would do! With my dad's buck hanging on the wall, the simple furniture, muted colors, wood paneled walls. I love - and I'm sure my husband and father would approve!

Love the bookshelves, rug, and light beige couch - accented with bright colors from the pillows, flowers, curtain and all the books! Feminine little touches, yet masculine enough for the boy in my life.

AMAZING MASTER BEDROOM! I think I am in a brown phase. I am obsessed with the wallpaper - and with all the furniture having clean lines, the room doesn't look too busy. Again, this room is perfect for me and Scott: dark colors & no ruffles for Scott - floral and animal patterns for me!

I have been truly inspired by all of my favorite blogs so I thought I would start my own. I am very excited to see where this will go!

I love all things beautiful. I love my husband. I love being with my family. I love shopping and decorating. I love full glasses of wine and spending time with friends.

I am blessed with such a great life and have been known to live in my own little fairytale... so this should be the perfect outlet!
